The Globe and Mail: Gomery sets sights on key Liberals

The Globe and Mail: Gomery sets sights on key Liberals

It looks like Gomery is going in the right direction. I mean if people did things that were illegal then they should be ready to face the music. I watched a documentary on CBC Newsworld about the the 1995 Referendum in Quebec and boy it really refreshes one's memory about why the Sponsorship program was started in the first place. The Liberals of 1995 almost lost the country as we know it. I still find it amazing that Paul Martin's right hand man in Quebec today (2005), , Jean Lapierre was a seperatist supporter in 1995 and Bloc Quebecois MP who at that time campaigned for the yes side. It is kind of like having a fox in with the chickens. I doubt that Mr. Gomery's report will mean much as it will not affect those who had the power, it will only nail the ones who carried out orders. The liberals could lose a confidence vote before Gomery even reports. See National Post
